Pragmatic Play is a games supplier that produces slots, live casino, bingo, virtual sports and a sportsbook, all delivered to casino operators through a single API. It took its current form in 2015, when it acquired Topgame Technology, and is headquartered in Gibraltar under CEO Julian Jarvis. Details below are as of September 2026.

Licensing and testing

Pragmatic Play holds licences from the UK Gambling Commission, the Gibraltar regulator, the Malta Gaming Authority, the Swedish regulator and the regulator in Ontario, and its games are certified in more than 40 jurisdictions. Its random number generator is tested by independent labs, including GLI and Gaming Associates. For players, this means the games themselves are audited to those regulators' standards. It does not mean every casino that carries them is regulated to the same standard, so the operator's own licence still matters.

The company has offices in the UK, Malta, Gibraltar, the Philippines and India.

The catalogue

The portfolio runs to more than 500 titles. Slots make up most of it, alongside live dealer tables, bingo and virtual sports. A few game families account for much of the studio's recognition:

  • Gates of Olympus — a scatter-pays slot where multipliers add together through each tumble sequence. Read our Gates of Olympus review.
  • Sweet Bonanza and Sugar Rush — confectionery-themed games built on tumbles and multipliers.
  • Big Bass — a long-running fishing series.
  • The 1000 series — updated versions of established titles, such as Gates of Olympus 1000, with higher maximum wins.

Many of the studio's most recognised releases are high-volatility games that concentrate their return in bonus rounds. Several are also supplied in more than one RTP version, with the casino choosing which to run, so check the in-game information screen rather than relying on a published figure. Bonus-buy features appear on many titles but are restricted or unavailable in some markets.

Where to find the games

Pragmatic Play games are carried by a large number of online casinos, including Stake, which lists the studio among its 260+ providers. Which titles, RTP versions and features you can play depends on the casino and on your country.

Summary

Pragmatic Play is a large, widely licensed supplier whose catalogue covers most casino formats. Its reputation rests on a handful of popular slot families rather than on any single game, and its games are independently tested. As with any provider, the practical details — RTP version, bet limits and bonus-buy availability — depend on the casino you play at.
