NextCasinoScout is an independent review site for online casinos, slots, game providers, bonuses and payment methods. It is written for players who want the facts before they deposit: which licence a casino holds, what a bonus really takes to clear, how a slot behaves, and what each of those means for their money. This post explains what you will find here, how we review, how the site is paid for, and how we handle mistakes.

What you will find here

Everything on the site falls into a few sections. The table shows what each one contains, with counts at the time of writing (7 October 2026).

How we review

Every casino goes through the same four checks: licensing and safety, banking and payouts, bonus fairness, and player experience, including the responsible-gambling tools on offer. Inside those checks we look at specific criteria: which authority licenses the operator and what that means for complaints; the wagering multiplier and the other terms of each bonus; deposit and withdrawal methods, minimums and listed payout times; how support works; how the site works on a phone; and which limits, time-outs and self-exclusion tools are available and how easy they are to find.

Our rating criteria at a glance

Check What we look at
Licensing and safety Which authority licenses the operator, what that licence requires, and what it means for complaints and the protection of your funds; we say clearly when a licence is offshore
Banking and payouts Deposit and withdrawal methods, minimums, listed withdrawal times, turnover rules on deposits, and when identity checks can be requested
Bonus fairness The wagering multiplier and what it applies to, the deadline, the maximum bet while wagering, excluded games and caps on winnings
Player experience The game library and its studios, how support works, how the site works on a phone, and the responsible-gambling tools on offer

How a review comes together

  1. Collect the facts. We start from the operator's or studio's own published terms and specifications and the licence it holds.
  2. Look at it the way a player would. For casinos that means the lobby, the cashier and the bonus terms as a new customer meets them.
  3. Apply the same checks. Every operator is assessed against the same criteria, whether or not it is a commercial partner.
  4. Rate it and write it up. The review gives one score and explains, in plain language, what pulled it up or down.
  5. Date it and revisit it. Reviews carry a date and are revised when terms, licences or payout practices change.

The score

Casinos and slots each get one overall score from 0 to 5, shown with one decimal. We do not publish numeric weights for the criteria. The score is an editorial judgement, and every review explains in writing which factors pulled it up or down. Our newer slot reviews, for example, include a "How we rated it" section that lists what counts in the game's favour and what counts against it, before giving the score. Scores of 4.5 and above are rated Excellent, 4.0 to 4.4 Great, 3.0 to 3.9 Good, and anything below 3.0 Fair.

Slot specifications come from the provider's own published material and other published sources, verified where possible. Where a figure comes from a single source, the review says it is "reported".

A high score describes the quality of a casino or a game. It never means you are likely to win: every casino game has a built-in house edge. The full methodology, including every criterion, is on our About page.

What we check that matters to players

A few checks make the biggest difference to what a player actually experiences, so we treat them with particular care.

  • Licences, checked at the source. When a casino appears on one of our market pages as licensed in a country, we have checked that regulator's own public register first. We do not rely on a logo or a claim on the casino's site. Our guide on how to choose a safe online casino explains how to run the same check yourself.
  • Bonus terms, worked out. A headline bonus figure says little on its own. We show the wagering requirement and what it applies to, and our guide to casino bonuses shows how to work out what an offer really asks of you.
  • Payout information only when it is stated. On our payment-method pages we mark a method for withdrawals only when the casino's terms, as covered in our review, say so. Where they do not, we tell you to check the casino's cashier rather than guess.
  • Comparisons built from stored facts. Our casino comparisons put two reviewed casinos side by side using only the data in our reviews: rating, licences, welcome bonus and wagering, payout information and accepted payment methods. Where a value is missing, the comparison shows a dash rather than filling the gap, and the written verdict for each pair is based only on what our reviews say.
  • RTP versions. Many slots come in several RTP settings, and the casino chooses which one to run. Our slot reviews state the published range and tell you to check the game's info screen. Our guide to RTP and volatility explains why the difference matters.

Independence and how we are funded

NextCasinoScout is free to use. We may earn a commission when you sign up with a casino through links on our site, and that is how the site is paid for.

Commission never affects our ratings or editorial independence. Operators cannot pay for a better score, a higher position or the removal of criticism, and a review can recommend against an operator we earn from. The same methodology applies to every casino, whether or not it is a commercial partner. Links that can earn us money are marked as sponsored, and our casino call-to-action boxes carry an advertising note so you can always see which elements are commercial.

Accuracy and corrections

Gambling products change often: bonuses are replaced, licences change, payment options come and go. That is why every review shows when it was last updated or checked, and why we revise reviews when the facts behind them change.

If you find something that is wrong or out of date, please tell us through our contact page. We check every report, correct confirmed errors, and update the page's date when we do.

Responsible gambling

You must be 18 or older, or the legal age where you live, to gamble, and availability varies by jurisdiction, so only play where online gambling is legal for you.

Gambling should stay entertainment. Set a budget and a time limit before you start, never chase losses, and never gamble with money you need for anything else. Our responsible gambling page explains how much gambling really costs, how to set limits, and the warning signs to look out for. It also covers the practical tools that help: deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion at the casino; blocking software for your devices; gambling blocks offered by banks; and national self-exclusion schemes. Warning signs worth taking seriously include spending more than you planned, chasing losses, borrowing to gamble, hiding how much you play, and feeling restless when you try to stop. If gambling stops being fun, free and confidential help is available, including from GamCare, Gambling Therapy and Gamblers Anonymous.
